Dr. Ray Aller, Senior Physician and Director of the Automated Disease Surveillance Section of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, provides an overview of Public Health Informatics. Utilizing his deep public health background, he provides an historical perspective on Public Health. He also offers suggestions on how clinicians can do a better job of protecting the public's health using informatics. The interview was conducted by William F.
